Kannada cinema fans have voted for Genelia to play the heroine in a forthcoming film.

Fans were asked to choose one from a short-listed panel of four actresses.

The voting was done through mobile messages and magazines.

Genelia beat Asin, Bhumika and Trisha to be chosen for the lead role in 'Sathyam in Love'. Popular star Shivaraj Kumar will play the male lead in the film.
